Terms of Service

These terms govern access to XZETO's public website, browser-based device tests, guides, contact workflow, and related features.

Results have limits
Browser measurements and subjective observations can help isolate a problem, but they do not prove that hardware is fault-free or defective.

Terms overview

  • XZETO is a self-service browser testing and troubleshooting utility maintained by Tom Mcfly.
  • You remain responsible for decisions, settings changes, purchases, repairs, and other actions based on a result.
  • Do not misuse the site, its endpoints, device permissions, or future test infrastructure.
  • Features may change or become unavailable as browsers, hardware APIs, infrastructure, and the product evolve.
Browser utility

Service type

XZETO provides self-service browser checks for media, input devices, displays, controllers, and browser capabilities.

Authorized use

User scope

Use the tools only on devices and browser sessions you own or are authorized to test.

No certification

Result status

Results support troubleshooting but do not certify hardware condition, health, warranty status, or fitness for a particular purpose.

No account

Access model

The current service does not require registration, paid plans, or subscription billing.

Acceptance and access

By accessing or using XZETO, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must have the legal capacity and authority required for your use. The service is a general utility rather than a product directed to children.

XZETO may restrict access when use is unlawful, abusive, automated in a harmful way, or likely to threaten the service or other users.

What the service provides

XZETO provides browser-based workspaces that expose available device signals, guide observations, calculate limited estimates, and explain practical troubleshooting steps.

Features can depend on secure context, browser APIs, permissions, operating-system policy, hardware, and optional deployment infrastructure. A tool may be unavailable even when a similar tool works in another browser.

The Internet Speed Test remains inactive unless dedicated monitored nodes, capacity controls, upload disposal, and abuse protection are configured. XZETO will not present an ordinary cached file as a reliable bandwidth measurement.

Your responsibilities

  • Use XZETO only on devices and browser sessions you own or are authorized to test.
  • Review visible instructions, permission prompts, volume warnings, and stop controls before continuing.
  • Verify important conclusions with the device's operating system, manufacturer documentation, another known-good setup, or a qualified professional.
  • Do not submit recordings, sensitive screenshots, passwords, IP addresses, stable device identifiers, or another person's confidential information through the contact form.

Acceptable use

Do not overload, probe, scrape unlawfully, reverse engineer unlawfully, bypass controls, introduce malicious code, automate requests abusively, impersonate another person, infringe rights, or attempt unauthorized access to the site, contact endpoint, analytics endpoint, hosting systems, or future network test nodes.

Accuracy, health, and safety

Results depend on browser APIs, permissions, operating-system routing, connected hardware, display timing, network conditions, and your input. Measurements can be incomplete, delayed, noisy, or unavailable.

The hearing-frequency tool is not a medical hearing test. Audio, camera, display, keyboard, mouse, touch, and controller results are not laboratory certification, warranty evaluation, or professional repair advice.

Keep playback at a comfortable level, stop any test that causes discomfort, and seek a qualified professional when health, safety, warranty, accessibility, or significant cost depends on the conclusion.

Content, branding, and feedback

XZETO's original interface, copy, illustrations, branding, and site content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names and marks remain the property of their owners and do not imply endorsement.

You may send feedback or suggestions. Unless separately agreed in writing, doing so does not create a confidentiality, payment, or implementation obligation.

Third-party services and links

Hosting, contact delivery, optional analytics, external social profiles, and future network nodes may be operated by third parties. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services, and XZETO is not responsible for external sites it does not control.

Availability, disclaimers, and liability

XZETO is provided on an as-available basis without a promise of uninterrupted operation, universal browser support, error-free measurements, or suitability for every device and purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, XZETO and Tom Mcfly are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from use of or reliance on the service, including data loss, purchase or repair decisions, lost opportunity, or device-setting changes.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the minimum extent permitted by applicable law.

Suspension, changes, and ending use

You may stop using XZETO at any time. XZETO may suspend, limit, replace, or remove features for security, abuse prevention, legal, maintenance, compatibility, or operational reasons.

These terms may be updated when the product, infrastructure, law, or risk profile changes. The revised date will appear on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
